About Adelgids, including Hemlock Woolly Adelgids

Adelgids are very small, piercing, sucking insects which feed on conifers. some species, like the spruce gall adelgid, produce galls while others, like hemlock woolly adelgid, produce woolly masses or wax on the twigs at the base of the needles.
