New Hampshire Governor Declares EAB Awareness Week
Recognizing the threat emerald ash borer poses to the trees and forests of New Hampshire, Governor Hassan issued a proclamation declaring May 19-25 Emerald Ash Borer Awareness Week.

About Winter Moth in Trees
The winter moth is a non-native, invasive insect which has been found in Washington, Oregon and Massachusetts. The winter moth caterpillar is bright green, about 15mm in length an resembles an inchworm.

About Cankers In Trees
Cankers are lesions in the trunk or branch often caused by mechanical wounding and/or fungal and bacterial pathogens. Canker causing pathogens are often host specific, i.e. sudden oak death in oaks.

About Cankerworm In Trees
The spring and fall cankerworm are distinct but very similar species belonging to the Lepidoptera order of insects. The fall cankerworm caterpillar is green or green/brown, with a dark stripe along the back and white stripes along its sides.
